Hiking Trail Truden/Trodena – Horn Alm/Malga Corno – Truden/Trodena

Starting in Trodena/Truden we take the European long distance path E5. We walk through a wonderful mixed coniferous forest on a forestry trail and we get to the col “Ziss-Sattel”. The trail continues to the “Hornalm” on 1.710 m. The panoramic view from here is surely worth the tiring climb: You have a wonderful view over the mountain chain “Lagoraikette”, the Palagruppe, the two mountains Schwarzhorn and Weißhorn, the Latemar, the Rosengarten group, the Schlern and the Alps of the Stubaital and Ötztal. After a stop for a bite to eat, we take the path E5 back to Trodena. The Alp is open in Winter from Tuesday to Sunday.

10 important rules for safe and fun hiking

6

Make sure that you have the right equipment! Good, rugged hiking boots are especially important: They help you manage rough terrain and protect your joints.

7

Wear light, breathable clothing – and always have some extra clothing with you! Don’t forget to pack protective clothing (for cold / bad weather). Always have your First Aid kit, sun blocker, and sunglasses with you!

8

Always have consideration for the slower / weaker members of your group. Point out any dangers you might notice to others, and be prepared to render others First Aid, if necessary.

9

Treat Mother Nature with respect! Avoid making unnecessary noise. Do not leave any litter. Be kind to the vegetation. Observe all rules regarding plants and animals under special protection.

10

Always following the signs and markings, and remain on the marked paths and stairways. Check your hiking map from time to time to make sure that you haven’t gotten lost, and return to your starting-point if you are in doubt.
